One of our favorite kindie bands will be back in town! If your little one hasn’t seen Justin Roberts in concert, put this in a must-to-see list for him/her. His show is always fun and energetic. We had a great time at Justin Roberts’ show in Washington, DC, last year.

When?
Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm

I can still see one of my neighbors’ blue and red lights. Seriously? Please take those lights down. Black History Month – Mount Vernon, VA
Friday, February 25 – Sunday, February 27: 9 am – 4 pm

Learn about the lives and contributions of the slaves who built the plantation home of George Washington in observance of Black History Month. Daily highlights by Mount Vernon interpreters begin at 10 am, daily wreathlaying occurs at 12 pm, daily tour starts at 1 pm. Admission fees: $15 for adults, $7 for kids ages 6 to 11 and free for kids 5 and under.

Ah, Valentine’s Day! To be honest, I was never big fan of Valentine’s Day until a few years ago. I didn’t think it was worth the one day a year to get overpriced flowers and to make a reservation at fancy restaurant for their special Valentine menu. But now …. who would’ve thought that celebrating Valentine’s Day with your little one can be so much fun? No expensive flowers needed, either!
